You know those indoor playgrounds?

When Alexander was crawling and Jane was three and a half, I’d bring them there, curl up in a corner and go to sleep. Sometimes I’d wake myself up from snoring so deeply.

It it still the best money I’ve ever spent.

    I taught the child to turn the TV in my bedroom on and would leave a juice box and a poptart for her on weekend mornings, so I wouldn’t have to get up and feed her.

    The vacuuming up after was a small price to pay.

    Where to begin? My girls watched a LOT of TV when they were little (hardly any now, and they read a lot, so yay)…I remember sticking them in front of the TV while I did things like haul the old dining room table up from the basement and reassemble it (it took me hours, because I’m not great with furniture except to sit on it or at it) so that I could HAVE A DESK of my own again, even in the middle of the living room.

    Now they are older and I have a room of my own, and a laptop. I’m a lot less grumpy as a parent, too. No big surprise there.
