Be Outraged

“The individuals who linked arms and actively resisted, that in itself is an act of violence,” UC police Capt. Margo Bennett said. “I understand that many students may not think that, but linking arms in a human chain when ordered to step aside is not a nonviolent protest.”

  1. Very disturbing…I remember the shooting at Kent State…not a whole lot has changed. Batons can cause fatal injuries to the kidney and other vital organs if they are hit hard enough.
I am not sure what the answer is or if there is one… a peaceful protest is so difficult to maintain just due to the nature of large groups …but we have to be able to do better than what is happening in this appalling video.

    1. Should they respect ALL authority?  Follow all simple commands?  Respect the authority of criminals who jab in their guts with billy clubs?  Respect a political and economic system that robs them, leaves them jobless, homeless, pensionless, and hopeless?   No.  No.  No.  I won’t follow the simple commands of immorality or respect a system that is absolutely incompatible with humanity.  We should help those brave souls that are locking arms for all of us, even those of us who don’t yet realize they need brave souls who will lock arms on their behalf.

  2. Wow.  Holy shit.  Bless those brave souls that lock arms in protest for us.  We all need to help them in any way we can.  If we can’t spend the night, deliver food.  If we can’t march, deliver signs.  Donate money, toiletries, tents, wifi connections, laptops, toilet paper, water, blankets.  What they are doing is very important for all of us, and for all our children.
