Apparently Betty White is the Boss of Us All

Yesterday was an admittedly lovely day and I really enjoyed spending some time with Betty White.

Today I was invited to a small luncheon hosted by Jenny Craig to celebrate Valerie Bertinelli’s Star on the Walk of Fame. I walked into the luncheon and it was a room full of people I sort of recognized but out of context I didn’t really know them, except one. Betty White. Well, I recognized two people. Betty’s driver. He was so sweet and asked me where the anthropologist was.

I know…. Betty White is missing from this photo but it’s a good photo and you know you wanted to see it.

Tuesday is a Betty White Interview.

Wednesday I sit to chat with Betty White again while we’re waiting for Valerie Bertinelli to show up. Valerie has just gotten her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Betty and her driver let me know that Betty’s star was originally made of wood. In fact Betty is so gracious that she reminds me that they’re much harder to get now and that Valerie Bertinelli has worked very hard and is “quite a success”. Yes, that’s why the world loves her.

And Thursday Betty White will be on Facebook with a live stream from Tide’s page at noon pacific time. Be sure to logon and interact with her Betty loves being on the small screen and we all know she’s good at it. You can actually submit questions on the page now or you can tweet #AskBetty and maybe she’ll answer your question.

I’ll be there because I’m afraid to miss it. Betty practically admitted to me that she held P&G executives hostage until they relented and agreed to change Tide with Bleach to Tide Vivid White. Well, she didn’t vehemently deny it. Honest to goodness… I have the video queued up to prove it go to minute 7 in this video… would I lie to you?

Tomorrow I’ll share some video from the Valerie Bertinelli event.

This post is sponsored by P&G and I’m fairly certain that executives were held hostage by Betty White even though they deny it. (Stockholm Syndrome? I mean c’mon she’s a strong 90 year old.)

Betty White, Previlean, Eylashes and The Beach

Tomorrow I’ll give you the Betty White backstory but today y’all can see what I did this morning by watching this video.

I dragged William along with me and he took great video but I think the folks from P&G slipped him some cash because his focus was a little off when it was time to pictures.

From Betty and Tide I ran home to have a G+ hangout with Previlean. I’ll post it to my YouTube channel later this week so y’all can have some of your questions answered.

After the hangout I had to go to the beach because Jane needed to be picked up there. Shockingly I was an hour and a half early so I had to lay on the towel that I just happened to have with me and read my book that I just happened to bring along.

Parenting can be difficult.

From the beach I ran to UCLA to grab Alexander from tennis camp, it took an hour and fifteen minutes to get from Sunset and PCH to UCLA. This is not a tenable situation. LA needs to make some changes stat.

I flung a little food at as all and took Jane and a friend to an eyelash and fake nail (Eylure and Elegant Touch) event at ULTA. I am a huge fan of nail stickers because I hate waiting for polish to dry and I love doing my nails in bed. I’m also a fan of fake lashes. When the girls saw the Katie Perry eyelashes they freaked out.

So now I’m the cool mom and really that’s all that counts. More on the lashes and nails later because they deserve a video of their own. Also they gave gift bags to both of the girls (which was outrageously generous and totally unnecessary) so I declare ULTA, Eylure and Elegant Touch heroes of the day.

We Brought Static Back From NYC

We got back from New York City on New Year’s Eve. Yes, that was three days ago, and I’m just finishing the laundry.

The first load was fine, and then when I went to transfer the second load from washer to dryer all I could hear was the zing of static electricity. I’d recently decided to try Method laundry soap and softener (I thought it would be nice to have lighter bottles to lift), so I figured that it just wasn’t doing the job that my beloved Tide and Downey could do.

I ran to the market on New Year’s Day to grab bottles of Tide and Downey, rewashed the clothes with all the proper pollutants in place…

Went to put them in the dryer, and there was snapping and zinging once again.

I think New York City is the static-iest place on earth, and I have no clue how to get my clothes presentable.
