I’m a 39 year old woman who doesn’t wear makeup. It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s that I don’t know how and the only thing I own is some Maybelline Mascara and a tube of lipstick from CVS.
It’s pitiful really.

You know, I would have never guessed. You look just great the way you are. I think there’s something to be said about women who can pull that off. You should be proud.
I just don’t know what to say. Last week I went to Bobbi Brown’s studio with some friends, all over the age of 38, half had no idea how to apply makeup.
Maybelline mascara is the best.
I love makeup, but I don’t wear it every day (I think skin needs a breather.) When I have my warpaint on, I feel more in character. When I don’t, I can fly under radar.

i dont wear a lot of make up either. a little eyeliner and mascara and that’s it. i live by the ocean so i feel like a big faker slapping on all this foundation.
Jessica, I sell makeup, and hardly wear it. I mainly wear eyeliner and mascara. You are lucky that you can not wear makeup and still look great.
I wear nothing as well. I do have some and will put it on once in awhile but I’m clueless at how to put it on expertly…
I’m also makeup impaired, but I’m also not a fan of putting too much on. Mascara is my staple though.
Oh, I never learned either. I was in college and having my friends help me.
I gave up on make-up aside from inexplicable backstepping to mascara once in a while.
I saw a magazine at the check-out recently with photos of what the “stars” look like without make-up and thought.
“Hell, I look better than that.”
If you ever figure it out, let me in on the secret. I’d love to know how, but every attempt results in a clown-like effect so I’ve given up and don’t even own a tube of mascara or any lipstick. Unless a toddler-chewed tube of chapstick counts. :)
@Sarah I’m bound and determined to figure out this makeup thing. Of course the slackmistress and FightinMadMary have taken me under their (very snazzy) wings.
Tonight I have a party and I’ll hope for kind lighting, tomorrow I film a TV show and they airbrush that on anyhow… but next week… if I have to get a friggin trowel to get the job done I will.
