Earlier this week I was at my friend’s house, and I got to spend a few minutes in her home office.
It’s a beautiful space. It’s neat and organized, very soothing.
My office is piles of paper, castoff furniture and bare walls. I really need to fix it, but in the interim I keep the door shut.
There are not enough doors in my house.
Mine is spilling out into my kitchen & breakfast nook. The clincher? It’s in the basement, so the chaos spreads far & wide. Sadly I have no door.
You deserve a nice space! I smell a before and after photo opportunity!!
When your official space is put together and fun it can inspire you to do more work, get more done and overall generate more income for you. Sounds silly but I promise, it works!!
Awww, Jess! Glad you liked my office! I sure do spend a lot of time here, so I had to make it pretty & serene. I must admit, it is usually a big ol’ mess, but I stashed boxes and press kit materials since I knew you were coming. We all have clutter lurking somewhere behind a closed door…
Please, next time you’re in Denver, come spend time with me in my home office – which consists of a huge ugly desk in the middle of an unfinished basement surrounded with photography equipment and Christmas decorations. It even has a musty smell I’ll not try to get rid of… just for you! (I always envy a beautiful home office!)
At least you have a door.
I’d be happy to design a new space for you. I am a stay at home Mom with a 4 month old and have been a designer of kitchens, offices, bathrooms, libraries, etc. for over 20 years. I love to work with spaces and budgets.
