Swine Flu Is The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me

Something wonderful happened at mixed doubles. A magnificent breech of etiquette that I lovingly attibute to Swine Flu.

No one shook hands.

Typically after a tennis match you walk to the net, shake hands with your partner and then with each of the other players. Most often I’ll stand off and wave, sometimes I’ll whisper “OCD” and though people look at me a little funny, it’s worth it.

Shaking hands with a sweaty stranger is just about the most disgusting thing you could ask me to do.

This evening two other folks suggested we not shake hands due to Swine Flu.

I almost oinked in delight.

  1. I winked and waved during the Peace part of an Episcopal Church service. Was totally at peace w/it too. Shaking hands makes me hurl.
I’m glad you’re an OCD freak too. I thought it was just me and The Donald.
