If you're not in the US you might be surprised to see the cost of healthcare. Not included in this number are the specialists and medicines my insurance doesn't cover and I don't submit… approximately $10,000 this year.

It's very expensive to have a chronic disease and terribly sad that uninsured/under-insured people are made to stay ill.

  1. Believe me, not surprised, I know living in Canada (God bless the healthcare here however imperfect). But I am a US citizen by birth. I hope my daughter stays in Canada. Still, as my daughter knows, "she" is proud to be an "American," really.

  2. This is the one thing I am very thankful for. My husband's job gives us really good healthcare and I our chronically ill son never has to do without a medication or procedure because of cost.
