My morning was spent on the phone with insurance companies today. In addition to checking the status of my appeal for my Simponi I needed to get a firm understanding of why Mr. G’s three hour shoulder surgery was $62,068.84. I love United Healthcare for too many reasons to list, but one of them was the giggliness of the agent. I have two very swollen knuckles. They’re very tender, and my range of motion is limited. I made an appointment with a rheumatologist as it’s been two years of discomfort and pain. Yes, two years. Earlier this week the house passed a healthcare reform bill. It is a 2,000 plus page document and I remain unsure that our representatives have actually read all of it.
